Default macleod clutch problem???

I am installing a macleod street twin in a customers 89 vette. The problem that I am having is with the clutch pedal height, with the new master that came with the clutch assy. The old master had an aluminum spacer between it and the firewall. There is not enough room between the firewall and the brake master cylinder for the new clutch master with the original spacer. Without the spacer the clutch pedal is way too high even with the clutch rod adjusted all the way in. Anyone run into this problem before??? I would really like to get this car back to the customer so that he can at least play for a little while before we get snow up here in Canada. Thanks in advance Paul

I just had a street twin into my car, and instead of using their master cylinder I had the fork pivot ball undercut by .060. Red at McLeod will tell you this is one way of doing it, and works just as good as the master. Bill at www.zfdoc.com did my install so you might want to give him a ring and see if he can give you any help.

Default fix

looks like I have got it to fit,had to trim the lip off of the back of the brake booster and take a bit off the end of the clutch master cylinder. Everything looks like it should work o.k now. clutch pedal is at correct height and seems to have the correct travel.Hopefully i will have the vette back to Jerry (black 89 vette) Monday or Tuesday night if the shop is not too crazy. thanks for the input. Paul. How is a shop supposed to charge for all this time trying to make these parts fit. They are supposed to be application specific! I read a post on here tonight about a guy building a 383 for $13000.00. It sure is not hard to see why the bills are getting up there so high. Sure makes giving an estimate almost impossible.
