Default Manual trans pedals / hydraulics

Is there any reason It would be easier if the engine was out, to install pedals + hydraulics for a manual. (going into a car that was an automatic) ?

Do you guys know off hand if the holes in the firewall are already there for the pedals + master cyl?

Anyone ever change out pedals before?

I haven't done it yet, but will be soon.
I have been investigating the procedure, though!
If you look closely at the eng. side firewall, you can just make out the 2 small bolt and 1 large m. cyl. hole markings.
Also, the al. cross brace has two holes at the top on the lhs for the cl. pedal bracket to attach.
Does the eng. need to come out to fit the m. cyl. and pedals..? I doubt it, but I suspect the cross brace inside might need to be removed, or loosened off some....

I did mine on a 93, and the petals mounts are different on the early models.

But on mine, once you tack the clutch petal mount in place, you can see exactly where you have to drill three holes. If you look real good, you can see a marking there.

I drilled from the inside out, and just had to remove my ECM and ECM mount to install the master cylinder.

PM my your e-mail address, and I'll send you some diagram that may help.
