Default WA state smog law?

Hi All,

No vette yet, but I did pick up a 91 Z28 Vert while down at Laguna Seca a few weeks ago.
It's a 305 TPI car but I secured a 4 bolt 350 shortblock for it today so the project begins.

I've been looking at various EFI programs for the new motor, LT1 Intake conversion, stealth Ram, Mini Ram etc and all look too pricey or iffy or both.

Looking now at Demon carb, dual plane intake, AL heads, (L98 or better, got any?) Hydraulic roller cam, not too big, planning 425 hp.

My question is, at least for the present, can a formerly obd2 car, carburated w cats, smog pump etc currently pass WA smog tests in Pierce Co.?

Retrofit Carbs on EFI, (OBD2) cars is not an issue as yet in WA, right?

I know the smog laws are getting much stricter in a few years but I could be LSx powered by then
Thanks
Evan

They are a fun car! I has a 91 Z-28 vert. some years back. It was a 5.0 5 speed car. You could not get a 5 speed with the 350. I ended up swapping an F-body LT1 and T-56 into it. I hope you enjoy yours.

I had a T5 behind a 355 race motor in a dedicated 84 Iroc road race car which was pretty fierce.
The T5 lived just fine (for a couple of seasons) then it's a pretty easy swap to a TKO.
This is a 305 TPI 700R4 car but it will elvolve ito quite a hotrod by springtime.
350, 5 speed car, I just need to know how far I can go and still pass smog.

THanks
Evan

Tom Wong (C/forum member) has a Hi-perf shop in Vancouver and can probably give you as good an opinion on Wa smog compliance as there is.
