Default Hard starting problems '86

Ever since I installed early '85 24# fuel injectors and an adj. fuel pressure regulator into my '86 I've been having starting problems. Fuel pressure is at 42# at starting but I do notice it slightly dropping after shut down and after a couple hours of sitting, pressure will be down to zero. I also noticed a hissing noise coming from the intake which leads me to believe I have leaking injectors. The only time my car starts w/ no problems is in the morning when its been sitting all night. Did anyone else experience this problem before? If so can you please help out. Thanks.

hmmmmm, sounds like the vacume line to the adjustable fuel pressure regulator is off or leaking somewhere.
maybe it came loose at the manifold? or one of the connecting lines?
your fuel presssure should drop after starting the motor due to the vacume pulling the AFPR back.
makes sense to me, too much fuel when engines warm (hard start) but when its cold the extra fuel helps start the motor.
I think your injectors are fine, if they where leaking the pressure would drop faster than a couple of hours, but you could check the sparkplugs to see if one is way running rich.
if it were me I'd check for vacume leaks first.
you can pick up a vacume gage for around $25, its handy to have around.
