My motor is still out of car, so I dont know yet how will it perform in real use.

I run a 1/2" thick plate, but with a single 1/2"W rub that is 1.5"T that picks up two of the cylinder head spacer points. I also hit other pick-up points that strengthen the whole assy. I used to have flex, but no longer.
