Default 84-87 Park-Brake SWITCH?

Several years ago I needed a replacement Park-Brake SWITCH, GM#14047181. My local Chev Dealer had no-stock(no surprise), and said GM's Warehouse in Canada also had none(slightly more surprised!). My parts guy checked inventory with all the Chev/GM dealers in Eastern Canada, and found one 14047181 listed at a Dealer across the city. I made a quick trip and scooped it up, and installed it myself. Problem solved - except if I ever need another Switch! All 84 thru 87 Vettes use this 14047181 Switch. From the look of my original switch that failed, all of these are prone to metal fatigue/failure on the switches brass contact-arm!? My question to you all - Does anyone know of another source for this P.B. SWITCH?? Or a reasonable substitute? I can find none from GM, or the aftermarket. Thanks for any leads!

Have you tried an AC Delco source? Many of the OEM GM electrical parts also have AC Delco part numbers.

Yes, thanks - I have checked a number of sources for GM/AC DELCO parts. Usually this switch is either not listed at all, or it is listed N/A - No longer available. I've got one site says they will double check if they actually have it/stock it, and will answer me soon. In the meantime, I thought I would draw on the collective knowledge of this Forum? Ciao.
