hey guys , found 94 with low mileage. going to look at it on wed . owners says car is clean but the cruise control does not work . is this a problem ?? is this a ez fix or major electrical problem? thanks once again tommy ... ps anything else i should be concerned with, car has 65,000...... tommy
I went throught the cruise control mal-function for a few years on my 85. It turned out to be a misadjusted brake light switch. This switch is mounted rather loosely and had slid back into the socket a little bit. It was not out of adjustment to the point of not turning off the brake lights, but it was off just enougn to not close the cruise control circuit. Other areas to check include -- fuses, on-off switch on the turn signal stalk and/or cruise servo. Hope this helps. Also, on some cars, the cruise control circuit goes through the instrument cluster. If there is a problem there, I expect you may be out of some big money.

I wouldn't turn down the car for that. I've never used cruise control in any car I've owned. If I want someone (or something) else to drive I'll hitch a ride.
Just about anything on a C4 COULD cost a bundle to fix but the CC is so minor when thinking about purchase that I wouldn't even worry about it. Offer 1k less, it might work
Thanks to this forum and the great people that share info.........my prob was the check valve supplying vac to diaphram-check that first to see if you have vac, listen for hiss under pass rail cover on engine, if yes, remove black plastic pass side rail cover (2 post that snap into place) and the check valve is right there-hopefully broken (NAPA $5 part on the HELP type rack). Mr. Chebbie would want plenty for this job. Good Luck...........
