Default FSM Help

OK, I drop $150 for the FSM. I'm going through it and here's a question.

WHERE TF ARE THE PART NUMBERS?!?!

They take the time to label parts 1,2,3 etc..... they give descriptions, but where do you get the dam part numbers that go with the descriptions?

Are all the PNs in a separate section or something?

I'm not aware of any FSM that gives part numbers.
GM, and others, change the part numbers on occasions -- so, part numbers that are correct today, may be wrong five years from now.

I always go online (like GM Parts Direct) or use a GM dealership for part numbers.

I have a part number catalog for my '64, I don't think any of them are correct now.

My local stealership the other day wouldn't give me the part number. They said it was against their company policy. How freaking annoying is that?!

My local dealer prints out the page and hands it to me.

What your guy is saying is if you're going to take our expertise and shop us on price, we ain't gonna help ya. There's some merit to that.

what the guy is saying is if you won't let us rape you by charging bunches more than what others can live on, shrew you.

get the parts book...wealth of info besides p/n's, like interchange because diff years use same p/n, ''blow-up'' illustrations often help disassembly, some parts book printing years even have price (must correct for inflation)

They label the parts and give descriptions so you will know what to ask for. The FSM, Factory SERVICE Manual, has service procedures. For part numbers, you need a PARTS book.

RACE ON!!!
