i just got the melrose system buttoned up to my Corsas and i'm ready to start thinking about my next steps with my otherewise stock 90 6spd.
i'd like to see around 350hp i think
I'm torn between a blowerworks supercharger solution with alchy intercooler package
or
heads/cam/intake.
I'm pretty sure both would get me there (correct me if i'm wrong). Blower package is around $6.5k. I don't know what the other option would be for parts and labor, but i'm thinking it would be close.
I like the idea of stock drivability with blower, but it just seems its not the most widely chosen method for the c4's (judging by feedback in the forums)
anyone else been in this situation..?? what did you do??
i've got 26kmiles on the car now

Reason: i can't spell
You can easily get a very drivable heads/cam package to make 350 HP--even 350 RWHP. For that level of power, I would not go with a supercharger. Extra weight, more complicated, etc. If you want BIG power, the supercharger is the way to go though.
Go to C4 forced induction section on this forum and talk with those people who have them.
yeah.. i've been trolling in there some. It just seems like there are many more people who have gone the bolt on route rather than the blower route.
Mr.Dave's comment makes some sense.. 350rwhp doesn't require that level of complexity..

I think the reason most people have gone the bolt on route is because most of us probably don't have 6.5K to put in a motor at one time.
Up until recently, I've been firmly in the bolt-on/heads/cam camp.
When I realized that I could do a custom blower installation myself for less than a set of heads, I changed my mind.
My project is still underway, but it demonstrates that it is possible to go the supercharger route at relatively low cost.
I've only got about $1000 into the project at present. I still need to upgrade my fuel injectors which will add some more to the cost. I just installed the new Racetronix Walbro 255 lph fuel pump last night, so that is included in the total.
There have been some good deals on both used and new supercharger kits in the for sale section lately.
Another development: Supernatural performance has also recently made their Powerdyne installation kit very attractive with a price of around $500. I've seen them listed here in the parts for sale section and on ebay.
I think the blower is less complicated than the heads and cam route. It's a ton easier to install, easier to tune, and you can return the car to stock a couple hours on a weekend if you want. Add those benefits to the stock driveability, and I think it's pretty clear which one is the way to go.

I like the heads, cam, mini ram option. It is very clean. You can do Brodix heads, CC cam, and Miniram for under $3000. That should put you over 350. You WILL need a custom chip.
