Default Mayday! Hypertech is going south!

I know that Hypertech programers are not great, but for me it has done the trick. I just need to lower fan temperatures and for that it is a great and simple tool.

Problem is that I would program from the original to Hypertech back and forth, that was because the car has to pass emission control .

I tried to go stock today and the programmer would display a notice that said something like " corrupt flash memory ".

What can I do? Is my original info lost? Is there a reset procedure for the Hpertech programmer or is this bad news???

I would assume that "corrupt flash memory" means you killed the PROM, but I'd RTFHypertechM to find out for sure.

You are wasting your time switching back and forth, not to mention exposing yourself to higher risk of exactly this sort of failure. If the fan temps are low enough to cause you problems with emissions, then they are low enough to be trashing your engine. The sort of fan temps that most people use will have no significant effect on emissions. I speak from having mine smogged in CA with both stock and lowered fan temps.

When you say about the Prom, is this part in the Hypertech programmer or is it part of the Vette computer?

It would probably be much cheaper and easier just to install a switch inside the car and flip the fan switch on. This is how mine is setup.
