im putting the 1.6 RR's on. is a 96 air lid is it worth the cut? someone said its not. ive descreened the mass air flow sensor. what is a good mean sounding cam for a almost stock lt1? are shorty headers worth it or should i just buy some long tubes? and do i have to do any modifying to the car to put longtubes on it? i also have my lt4 knock sensor swap with o2 simulators and straight pipes from the manifold back.
Cutting the lid is up to you, not something you'll feel. Certainly wont hurt to do it.
Hotcam is the logical upgrade, if the car is driven alot.
Shortys are not worth the expense and trouble. Longtubes are the only way to go. Nothing else needs to be changed, computer or enginewise. Some will need some thought about where to move the cats, or some kind of customization in that respect with the rest of the exhaust.
no cats i have o2 simulators. but everyone says the lid cut is pointless on a 96. the car is a daily driver. so what type of cam again? i just want a nasty lope. what kind of cam ?
