on a car with cats i agree after the cats if possible but on our cars space can be the limitation.for example i have long tubes with an x-pipe in place of the stock resonator and my bullet cats after that.they would'nt clear my cross frame up front.
Agree with prior to CF members in their assessment. I have a 95 and did the "paint trick" - worked fine and my X-pipe (different type of a cross over pipe) is behind the CATS.
