Have any of you ever had this problem? I went to shut my passenger side door and I noticed that it did not seal. On closer inspection, I saw that the window was too far up. I suppose that there is some kind of stopper that broke that usually prevents this from happening. I am prepared to fix this myself but I have never dealt with power windows. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.
Same problem but on the driver's side. When it is too far up, the door is sort of difficult to open. The window seems to go a little cockeyed with the front-top being higher than the back on mine. Any thoughts on how to fix?
I believe (going by memory) when I replaced my window motor, that there's an adjustment on the inside of the door. You'll have to take off the door panel to get to it. Once you get the door panel off you'll see it. It's closer to the jam side of the door. Two bolts in a bracket with hooks that catch on the way up. They may be loose or you may just need to loosen them up and adjust them so the window doesn't come up as far.
I had the same problem on the passenger door on my 93. The window guide was broken, it is a plastic piece at the front bottom edge of the window. It takea a special tool to replace it. I bought the piece from the dealer and had a glass shop install it they cahrged 45 bucks to do it. Everything lines up nice now was well worth it. :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
Well, just when I said I was prepared to fix this problem myself, I looked in my warranty papers and found that it covered the power windows. So, I dropped it off at the dealership. They called and said that they had to order a part and it would be fixed the next day. Boohoo, the first night without my Vette. Today I went to pick her up and come to find out, the warranty didn't cover the plastic guide that had to be replaced. I guess I should have broke the electric motor that it did cover. Anyway, I paid the $87 and drove away happy in my girl with a properly working window. :)
