Default Christmas mod on L98

The wife has decided to give me cash instead of a present this xmas and told me to get what I want. I am looking to get a set of TPIS headers with a dual exhaust system on my low mileage 90' C4. I talked to a custom exhaust shop near here and he was telling me in order to get full benefit out of the headers I would have to install a true dual exahust system on the Vette which could get a little pricey. Does anyone have any input or experience on entire exhaust systems for this car. This car is pretty much stock with the exception of a magnaflow cat back system. He could reuse the magnaflows and build it from the headers back. Thans for the feedback.

Exaust is a big restriction. Headers into true duals might be a little loud for some. Are you going to get cats put in as well?

IMO, that's the best bang for the buck. Headers, true duals and add an x-pipe if you have the money. The peak HP gain is only ~25rwhp but the biggest improvement is up top where you should see a 40-50 rwhp gain. Big grins heading your way.

I am currently in a county that does not have emmisions but I am sure they will one day so I will install a CAT. I have seen some setups where they have a 2 into 1 CAT's and then come out with 2. Looks like a very clean setup. I am not into an obnoxiously loud setup but the added power and sound would be a plus. I will take the car down to the exhaust shop next week for an estimate. He is slow this time of year and is willing to install the headers also. There is something about the exhaust sound coming from a nice set of headers. Still looking for inputs and/or pics. Thanks

TPIS can set you up with a complete exhaust system from the headers back to the tailpipe with a Flowmaster cat-back and hi-flow RT cat which is what I am running. It sounds great, but the black paint is a never ending battle and I would rather have a true dual set up; Their headers work and install very nicely, however.

I would go to the local exhaust shop and try to have true duals installed with no cats. You can always purchase cats later if it becomes necessary; exhaust is a restriction on an L98, but not the biggest restriction; that comes from the intake..

True dual's are good. Some of it will depend on how you are w/interior resonance, and what system you pick. Some who have corsa systems for dual's say there is none, mine is a good set-up for power but has quite a bit of resosnance at certain rpm ranges.

I have TPIS headers no cats or resenator, factory H pipe into Magnaflows, see my sig for a video.
