Don't know that model of laptop, but I can say that it would be good to be formated w/xp (software puposes) and also nice to able to use usb's instead of serial cables.

Look at the threads on this. I've been using a IBM Thinkpad-an old one that is a Pentium 4 150 Megahertz with a serial port. Datamaster works Great!!

Don't bother with any cable except one that uses a serial port. Lots more simple. No drivers or etc needed, just the cable and the program.

the Kiss principal works like always--KISS-- Keep It Simple, Stupid.

don't be scared about what you don't know.....most, if not all new laptops being made today don't even have serial ports. If loading drivers puts you off, than you are limiting yourself to additional available tuning tech. (Moates APU-1, Flash and burns, ostrich, blue tooth for tuning emulaters, AFRM'S etc.etc.).

very cool, you will be fine. Like anything new there will be some learning curve in using software, and computer set-up (dedicated comm ports. initial communication, packet speed)etc. I own quite a bit of available software, tts datamaster, tuner pro rt, tuner cat, lm-1, Moates APU-1 etc. etc. Each program and programing required a bit of fooling to get them up and flying proper. Getting the blue tooth and the lm-1 to work in conjunction w/tuner pro rt/ emulator was probably the biggest challenge, but was well worth the effort.
I didn't have anyone local to me for help, although I owe big Thanks to C. Moates for all his time and help in learning tuning/set-up, not to mention M.Mansur for a good product and product support.

So, the next step for you will be an APU-1 (emulator), LM-1 ...and then the quest for the holy grail..... a 128/128 tune w/no SK's
actually, it's all good fun and I think you will find (aside from some learning curve) that you will learn more about how these cars really work.

almost forgot, go here and download the auto connect usb driver:
