I am showing in my code files NYU = REAR 84-96 57.2 rate. Yes to Z51, no to front.

Andrew, does it show what the Z51 front spring should be? I am going to be looking for one & I want to make sure that I get the correct spring for a 96 Z51. Thanks, Don

It looks like you would want front Z51 spring 115.5 N/MM code FHB. You would want that rear NYU spring to go along with it so the suspension is matched, for cornering anyways.

Are you looking for the specific '96 Z51 springs or which Z51 springs will fit? The Z51 spring rates changed over the years. '96 Z51 springs were nearly as soft as the 1995 *base suspension* springs.

NYU is a rear Z51 spring as mentioned by Aardwolf and works great on a '96. However, the NYU spring was never offered as part of the Z51 package in 1996, only '89 thru '95.

'84-'96 rear springs are interchageable
'88-'96 front springs are interchangeable
'84-'87 front springs are interchangeable

FWIW I run the NYU rear spring and FHB front spring and it's a huge improvement.

Here is a link to a pretty good spreadsheet. It may not be 100% perfect, but it's the best I've seen...

Edit: If you're changing spring rates and are going to use the car in anger don't forget to change the sway bars in order to keep things balanced.

Thanks, I have all but the front spring, sway bars & such. I just need the front so I can put them all together. I didn't know what to ask for on the parts for sale, now I do.
