I agree. I posted the LT1_Edit message. most of the other groups or lists have a lot of camaro users, etc.. I would liek to stick to PCM programmers who have C4's or C5's. puts a boundary on the subject and will ultimately be more helpful. Especially with the advent of the LS1_Edit package soon to be released.
I guess it is just one of those things. You mentioned PCM, well then how 'bout us ECM guys? I guess it boils down to the fact that misinformation can really ruin someone's day. It could become a messy forum-plus, I wonder if a new moderator would be needed.
I agree, it would be convenient, but it is probablyhasn't become a forum yet because either the moderators don't feel a need for it (gotta love that wheel and tire site...) or they think too many cars will get FUBAR'd. -Matt-
I spoke with Troy about this about a year ago. At the time, the forum was splitting up into more groups and he felt that adding another section at that time was too much. I don't know if they want to re-think adding it again, but the best thing would be to email him and ask.
In my email to him, I had offered to moderate the eprom section if needed. I don't know the most about programming, but I'm always willing to help when I can.
I think a computer tuning section would be great for this forum.

For starters I ain't touching the tire site comment !!! :yesnod:
Yea I can see your point. The EXACT same thing can & does happen now. Any one messing with the powertrain of a car needs to be able to sort through what they are looking at & make an educated choice to do it or not. It would be like a person with a stock L98 putting 4.10's under the tail end because they read a post that I think they make my car MUCH more fun to drive. There are just a few differences between the L98 & the LT4 not to mention the 4+3 vs. the ZF6. It's all about research, but I hope if you are crawling into the program for your engine or you are taking your car apart you are going to invest the time to do it right. Hell I might accidently fry my car & I am trying to do all the research I can even before I purchase the software. Your points are all very valid & well taken !
Edited: all those "you"s in my above statement are generic you's and are not directed at Matt
I think it would be worth trying it out. I'm on the LT1-edit message group and that's very helpful, but the format stinks compared to CorvetteForum (searching, autonotification, filtering through the posts, etc).
The misinformation problem would be exactly the same as it is with all of the current forums. By the nature of a site like this you have to filter out the garbage anyway. Some garbage is just more harmful than other :D A warning to the newbies would probably be a good idea, though.
Well considering they just added a Camaro general board.. I would hope they would Consider a PROM/Tuning board. Maybe someone should start a topic with a Poll
