If all goes will its not bad. I was doing the bearings, U-joints and shocks at the same time so the rear was mostly removed making it a lot easier.

There's a good sized torx socket that you need to remove the bolts that come from the inside. I can't remember what # it is. Otherwise its pretty straight forward. Two recomendations, replace the shim that goes behind the bearing and use a quality bearing like AC Delco.

Its been a few years, but I think its a T-55 torx. You'll also need a 36mm socket for the axle nut.

a couple of extension wobblers make it a whole lot easier to get that 55 onto the torx head!

Let me "Ditto" on the U-joints. As long as you're back there, it's easier to get the three T55 bolts out with the half-shafts out. And if you have enough mileage on your car to be replacing the hubs, the U-joints are surely not far behind. But to answer your question, it's not very difficult at all. Just replace the teflon-coated washers that go between the spindles and hubs or you might have noise later. I paid $7.21 each for the washers at the Chev. parts counter.

The spindle nuts,36mm, can be a problem. Torqued to some ungodly number. Be sure you have a plan to get back to the correct torque.

If you are replacing hubs, you need to do u-joints. And also take a heavy look at the condition of your bushings.
