what rpm's and hp/tq are you getting?how is the idle quality and low speed/low rpm driveability?
i am not happy with the driveability on the custom cam i let the shop pick out for my stock w/bolt ons lt4.looking for proven setups with dyno numbers and/or timeslips.if you don't want to bare all feel free to pm me.

Hotcam it and I'll hook you up with an OBD1 tune!

Seriously, are you thinking of changing out your cam?

Whats the specs on the custom cam you have now?

xfi 230/236 i have heard makes more power than the cc306 cam and idles smoother due to less overall overlap and 113Lsa.

i have the 467 with some bolt ons in an lt4 and i would have liked to have gone bigger. i wouldn't say it idles smoother cause all you have to do is raise your idle. the 306 is larger just not in the lift area but the difference in lift isn't that much. i think the xfi's are meant to look big on paper but be a milder cam..

the cam i have is 231/237@.050 on a 110* in at 106*.i can handle the idle but at anything below 2200 rpm it likes to surge and is'nt smooth while cruising.the car has been dyno tuned and it is better but not what i requested when we had the long discussion about cam choice.
i think the cam being ground on a 110 is the big problem.
chris-i am going to change the cam.it is a matter of when.the 467 is similar in duration and lift.i am looking for experience on the idle and how smooth the low rpm cruising is(1500-2000 in sixth gear).i think the 113 lsa might smooth it out enough.i want to be sure as i don't want to do this again.

I am running the Comp 467. I have my car idling around 700 RPM now and it is kind of ruff. It was idling around 900 but I like to hear the cam lope a little. As far as low speed in 6th gear it does not like to run under 2000 rpm or under 60 mph in 6th. I usually have to throw it up into 5th. If I lug it in 6th I get some drive train clunking. Most guys say that is normal. My car still has a 3.45 gear so it may get better with 4.10s. I do not have any dyno numbers on my motor yet. I plan to take it out to a shop in Bowling Green KY in the spring and get it dyno tuned. See my sig for a video.

i would agree. the XFI i have read from others experiences that its a good cam with decent idle characteristics and part throttle driving. A guy running that cam in his 383 is loving it. 383 will tame that cam down but it could work well with an LT4 with a good tune.

If not step down to a 224/230 XFI. it isnt listed in the catalog but they have it in their custom lobe catalog. they should grind it for you at regular price since its not a "custom" lobe, they have it in stock.
