Default Crankcase Vent hose question.

My "91" Vette has been setting a code 32 recently and the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on once every couple of days.

I've checked for the usual vacuum leaks and EGR tests (also the "91" does not use an EGR temperature switch) but, everything checks out fine. The L98 engine runs fine with 75k on it and is very well maintained.

Today I was reorganizing the plug wires when I saw that the Crankcase Vent tube had slipped out of the valve cover grommet.

I was wondering if this could have anything to do with the intermittent "Service Engine Soon" light and the code 32. Thanks

I would doubt it but it is real easy to check. Just plug it back in, reset the codes, and drive it.

I trimmed the length of the vent hose about a 1/2" since it had stretched and eventually pushed the vent tube out.

I also, had the battery disconnected since I was doing some other work. It's been one day so, far and no codes or SES light. If the SES doesn't light for a week, I'll be convinced that the crankcase vent tube had something to do with the code 32 and intermittent SES light.

Update: Two days later, the SES light came on during my drive to work. I'll change the EGR valve soon.
