Default Let's find out

Well I'm thinking we might just find out the answers to the ?'s. The more I think about this the more I want to do this to the stock runners. Cut and weld I mean. That way we can find out if they are thick enough to weld and if any power is gained by doing this. More or less it's just for ****s and giggles with a little bit of curiosity sprinkled on. If/when I do this I will keep you guys posted. Keep the pics and expierences coming!

Will it require different gaskets?

"My thought was why not turn two runners into one? "

Siamizing the runners on the intake has much the same effect and easier.

I am doing a set of SLP's(cut and welded) that I will dyno test against a set of SLP's that I have Mega-Ported myself. If it works well I will offer it as part of my porting services. It's a lot of work to be sure.

Oh, Don't bother doing the stock tubes. Too small and too delicate. The tubes are extruded and are very thin. Easy to dent and hard to weld.

You could use a old set of dented up runners for this test since they will be cut anyway. Also don't laugh but how about making them with J B Weld ?

Well, Prozac is right. Guess there's nothing we can do. Might as well just line up all the early C4's and push them into the ocean. Ah, you know how Corvette people are. Now we'll have a big arguement over who's car gets to go off the cliff first...

Complete crap !!!! There are tons of mods for TPI cars. There were 300,000 Vettes made with TPI and I know for a fact that there are ALOT of brutally fast TPI cars out there. I myself have a pretty good income just selling ported plenums for TPI motors. And I am busy. Just one thing -plenums. That one little niche has me so busy I am ready to leave my day job.

Now I find your web site
I spent 4 months (off and on) porting and matching my Accel base, LTR and plemun last summer, I even had to rebuild my compressor once. I can see why porting is time consuming and expensive but your prices are very fair. I tryed to siamese the runners as best as I could, I opended it up from the entrance and exit of the runner to over 1.7" diameter and left a 1 1/2 inch area in between the runners that I shaped and polished. My garage is trashed with aluminun dust.

Just a side note, be careful and don’t breath that stuff. I remember hearing that aluminum has been linked to things like alzheimers’s disease.
