Default Supercharger Help Needed

I am installing a Powerdyne S/C this weekend..The engine is carbed..I have all the nesessary stuff to install..Except for boost controll...I have an HEI distrib No Ecu,,,MSD has an Ignition box 6420 (I think) that has a harness for the GM HEI...Do I need an add'l Boost timer box...With a carbed engine I don't need detenation(sp) Problems..Compression is 9:5 to 1 with taller head gasket and will run 6lbs of boost for now...Really need help on this one

With the blower, you'll probably want to run around 20-24 degrees of advance at high rpm under boost.

I'm assuming you have a mechanical/vacuum advance distributor.

If you can limit your mechanical advance to achieve safe timing, you should be ok without an additional boost retard device.

This may be a pia, unless you know how to recurve or limit a mechanical/vacuum advance distributor.

An adjustable boost retard may be easier.

Its good to see more Powerdynes popping up on this board. Good luck with your project.

Any idea how much advance you're currently running?

I'm @32* now on the 383...Hei w/vaccume advance..Runs strong but need more power Everything I've seen MSD wise needs the box..Plus the boost timer...I'm a little confused
