I'm going to put on an ATI balancer on my 383 int. balanced motor and was wonderin if anyone had a part # or size I need it's goin in an 84 Vette if that matters any. Should I run the Alum. or Steel one? Street and Strip car. THANKS FOR THE HELP Pipe
The stock damper is 6 3/4" in diameter. Much larger will require cross member modifications. The advantages of a light weight damper are similar to those of a light weight flywheel, only to a lesser degree. Pick your poison.
I haven't done any of your research for you, I'm just advising so you can better come up with what you need and will work for you, the first time. I've answered your e-mail. Thank you.

Although I'm sure it's a different part# for you, I use an ATI Superdamper on my fully neutrally balanced 388 LT1. I chose a 6 3/4" aluminum shell with a steel hub. Go to ATI's website to consider your options and determine the part number(s) you need. Don't buy directly from them, it'll be very expensive. Once you know what you need, shop around. In my case, no one stocked the parts I needed. But Doug Herbert Performance was able to have it drop-shipped to me very quickly and for a very good price.
