Default 3.07

do you mean the posi unit. you keep saying case, i dont think you can put 3.07 r/p in a series 2 posi unit, if you have a series 3 posi i think you can put the spider gears /clutch pac/ring/pinion in it. but since you have in tore down i would buy a clutch pac rebuild kit just to be on safe side send pete k a pm he knows all about stuff like that geo.

The first number of the gear indicates the series of the case that it will fit, for example, a 3.07 fits a series 3 case. They will not fit any other case or gear. You can buy the so called "thick gears" that will allow a 3.07 thick to fit a series 2 case. I think Ikerds and Yukon both carry these types of gears.

OK so I think we have figured out that a 3 series gear will not fit a 2series case so will the 2 series spiders and clutch pack fit into the bare 3 series case that I have

Yes. The 3.07 gears were never made in a "thick gear" configuration, to the best of my knowledge to fit a 2 series case. Therefore, the 307 gears will have to go onto a 3 series case. Case internals are the same. The only difference in a 2 and 3 series case is the location of the ring gear flange.

RACE ON!!!
