Default Intake Help...

hey guys,

i was trying to think of a way to get cold air into my engine, now my car has a 1150 CFM carb. i was looking at the ram air kits they make for carbs and i was trying to figure out if the plenums they use have enough volume, i added a pic of the plenum i found and would like your guys help with putting a system togather.

the plenum i found has a 4 inch outlet, and now since i have plenty of hood room from the cowl and my radiator being mounted in an angle i can do a straight shoot to the front bumber where the front licence plate is.

do you guys think its a worth the $$ and the work, you think its worth some HP . the car should MPH in the high 140s low 150s so i think it would gain from a ram air system..

or should i Fab up my own plenum with a bigger box... let me know what you guys think

thanks

The '70's muscle cars used cowl induction to get cool air from the high pressure area at the base of the windscreen.

Problem with a Vette is anything feeding from the front is picking up warmer than ambient air heated by the track, especially a problem at the start line when the track temp is a lot higher than actual air temp
