&*&^%& Spring Compressor Snapped
92 LT-1, LT-4 heads, 7/16 studs, double valve springs
I had just finished doing piston / valve clearance measurements and pushrod length checking using checking springs. I was putting a normal valve spring back on and one of the arms for the spring compressor snapped clean off - the tool, springs, retainer and the metal arm flew in all directions. Luckily I was wearing goggles. (I still havent found the snapped arm from the tool).
Soo.. any recommendations on a good stud-mount valve spring compressor? Thats the absolute last time I use a 'squeeze together' type.
I will let you all know how I get on at the parts store.. opinions welcome.

Was this something that reached from overhead, or from the side?

I will buy it if the thread starter passes on it.
I've been putting off springs and seals on this car for too long.

I used a Manley 1 piece, pretty sure I got it from Summit or P.A.W. years ago. Probably not that great if youre running a huge spring though.
