Default LT Headers on a '90 L98

I have been reading that a Long Tube header set up is a good upgrade for the L 98. I live in NY and need an emissions friendly car and have a couple of questions.

- Can these be purchased with the air pump tube fittings included?
I know the O2 sensor ports are available
- What is the major difference/advantages between the ceramic
coated and powder coated pieces?
- On the '90, I have the pre-cats almost immediately after the stock
exhaust manifold. Can the headers be installed with the precats and
the main cats and still use an aftermarket "cat back" system? I
presently have a Magna Flow system

Based on these issues any recomendations (other TPIS $$$$$$)

Thanks

Yes. However, the AIR system will greatly increase the amount of time and effort in the installation of the headers. I would recommend killing the air system.

Ceramic looks better longer. I haven't seen powder coated headers. Also, powder coating won't give the same finish.

I purchased Exoitc Muscle on a group purchase off the forum.

Thanks
Hooker or Hedman Elite headers. Eliminate the precats if you can, they are basically worthless. Hooker makes a short y-pipe for their system.

1. Yes, Hooker 2149 and TPiS have O2 bungs in place and are equipped with EGR and AIR ports.

2. Ceramic is better, results in less heat in the engine bay=less damage to electrical and heat sensitive parts. Powder coating is just to look at.

3. No, longtubes delete the precats. So if they are part of your visual inspection, you will not pass. That does not mean you will fail a sniffer pipe test however.

If you are going to do it. Do the headers with true duals from say a LT1 or a LT4 style and have it fabricated. You will never look back!
