Setting Rear Toe
I have an 85 coupe and replaced the rear spring with QA1 coilovers and made up new rear tie rods using heim joints and swedged tubes. My question is about setting the toe to a reasonable point so it can be driven to the alignment shop. I thought about measuring the front and rear of the tires and adjusting until they are close. However if one side is toe'd out wouldn't I just be compounding the problem by matching the other side to it? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Tie a string/tubing/extension cord/etc around a front wheel spoke, pull it taught back to the rear of the car, adjust rear toe until front and back edge of rear tire both contact the string at the same time. This will get you in the ballpark.
