1990 Beeping Noise when driving
Hi there,
I have a 1990 which seems to be running fine, the problem I am having is that when driving I get a long high pitched beeping tone coming from somewhere in the cabin. This only happens when i accelerate, if I am gentle with the power then it stops but when I accelerate again it starts. Is this some kind of warning tone? I have used the paperclip to check for any codes and there aren't any.
Anyone know what this is?

Alternator going bad? Throw out bearing?
Sounds like some kind of a bearing going bad.
Could also be the bearing in the fan going bad...

I had a similar problem only after driving for a while with the radio on.
Turned out to be the factory Bose amp going bad.
Had the amp rebuild and has never happened again.

Its definately an electronic beep just like the short beep when you first turn on the ignition. The original bose radio has been replaced so dont think it could be that.
When i got home tonight i turned the engine off but the ac fans kept going, started up again and made sure the panel was set to off but still the same thing the fans kept blowing out air through the vents even though the engine was off and i had removed the key. Had to take the fuse out to stop it.
Seems like some weird electrical problems here.
