Power Window Motors 89 Vette
I have a few pics may be of help to someone who has this task ahead of them and the same type of regulators that I have. Just ask.
I drilled out the three 1/4 inch rivets from the motor side but because a roller guide was riveted directly over one rivet, that had to be rivet drilled also to get it out of the way.
The method used to assure some degree of safety while loading up the spring while moving the lift arm involved screwing some lag bolts into my work bench.
I replaced the rivets with 1/4-20 flathead stainless bolts and needed to counter sink the 3 motor mounting holes to assure that the gear did not hit the phillips bolt heads.
After a few hours of adjustments, I have yet to get the window alignment to the point where the windows go all the way up with the door closed and provides a reasonable degree of sealing from the outdoor elements.
The windows rub on the weather strip and will not go all the way up due to the friction drag of the windows on the weather strip.
Am beginning to wonder if the aftermarket weather strips are thicker than the original design and I could be adjusting until hell freezes over and they still will not work properly.
Has anyone had similar issues?
Thanks
