No relay, just a controller board. It's in front of the drivers front tire on the fenderwll (black about 5" square). If the problem is the light motors keep running,, it's the bushings inside the motor (very common)>
actually, there is ONE relay and a circuit board (with a SEPARATE sensing circuit for each headlight motor) in the lil' black box.
the same controller is used on 88+ firebirds and some other gm compacts that have flip lights, thosehave a metal bracket attached but readily removed...call it a ''relay'' at the j-y and it's a $5 part, call it a ''controller'' and it's suddenly a $75 part.
I have a 93 headlight problem that I need help with and this is apparently the thread to ask in. The passenger headlight when turned on does not flip all the way but the motor is still running for about 5 seconds after it stops. Now i have heard the "replace the bushings" thing but I have and it made no difference. Would you guys think this to be a motor problem or a controller problem?
