I have 2 of them. One is in my car and will remain mostly stock. The other I bought for the block though I didn't know how I was going to build it up

Your post leads me to believe you have done little research about what it takes to get 500 RWHP so I would suggest you start reading and searching for combos producing those numbers just as a starting point. The fact you bought a set of heads and block w/o planning the combo first is not a good start. IMHO you will not get there without forced induction or Nitrous
with the plan you have. I have seen few 500RWHP N/A motors under 400CI's without a budget of 12-15K. I think you would be much better off adjusting your goals to 400-450RWHP and then look at proven combos for a starting point. Good luck and keep us posted

I think Demonic85 has a plan for you. It is possible to pull 400rwhp out of a 350, especially since it isn't going to be street driven you can go a little bigger with the cam. In my opinion the stock bottom you have will handle 400rwhp. If your engine is fine now I wouldn't even look at the bottom end yet. The trans and rear will most likely need attention before the pistons and rods and rings if you are at a 400rwhp level. Use your heads, a CC306 or similar cam, a good high rpm intake, decent sized carb (700cfm maybe?). Also need a different distributor, high stall converter, tcc control if you want it to lock up at all (if it is an auto), throttle linkages, fuel lines, little things like that. I am all for cubes and new forged bottom ends, but you are obviously budget minded or you would never have considered using your stock pistons on a stroker. If I were in your shoes I'd build a nice 350 turning 6500rpms and making about 400rwhp. It will last quite a while, there are quite a few 375 to 425 rwhp 350's on this forum and others that are surviving with cast pistons, let alone forged. Spray it with a 200 shot and make 550 or so rwhp. The trans and rear will need attention probably before the bottom end as long as you don't go crazy with the spray or the rpm's. And you can always build that bottom end in the future.
