Here is my question.....I know for the offset to be correct, it should be 56mm, so would the above specs cause the wheel sit appox 7/8 of an inch farther IN the wheel well? I don't want to mess with spacers or adapters for these wheels if I can help it!
Your 88 wheels have a 56mm offset. That's a difference of less than a half-inch for the offset and they would stick out that much further. The overall wheel width would play a part too; are they 9 1/2" wide?
You should try to fit the tire and wheel on the car to make sure there is no interference or contact especially at the outside edges of the wheelwell. Check the rear for any interference at the top of the wheelwell.

They are 17x9 so the 1/2 in wheel width is countered by the almost 1/2 difference in the offset, so it's virtually a wash and they would sit as the factory wheels/tires would? Am I thinking right?
