Need help rear stab link bushings

Default Need help rear stab link bushings

Removed rear sway bar link to replace bushings, purchased set of 4 poly from corvette central, size is diff from orig ,sleave is 1/16" shorter,will not press in -no room.Orig has outer sleave w/ sholder as a stand off. do I have the wrong bushings or is there a method I can"t see.have checked part # and is correct. car is 84 w/ manual. Thank You

I had the same problem, I trimmed the bushing till it fit and used the round metal rod part in the middle from the old bushing. You may have to slice through the bushing on one end so that the shoulder part is removed. Then press the round part in and put the shoulder on the other side. Or send them back and get the right part. IIRC the set I got was from Ecklers and it was also incorrectly sized. Try a set from Energy Suspension or the like.

has anyone tried rear link bushings from Enegy Suspension , and got a good fit?

It appears Im one of the few that have problems w/ rear link bushings install, have asked and received one response, also have searched info and still not found answer. sorry to not provide an intrest to the forum. Craig

I replace the bushings on my rear control arms and stabilizer bars with Energy Bushings and everything fit perfect.

I just took the rear control arms off my '85 and the Energy Suspension bushings had ovalized. This was after two years of track use - maybe 12 days on the track.

I was a little surprised to find this. I'm replacing all of them with Energy Suspension stuff since I still believe in the product. Just a reminder that nothing is perfect.

The alternative is to go to the heim jointed control arms. I'm not ready to that yet.
