Paging Nickd
Did you ever get around to installing a roll bar? I know you had talked about it in past post as well as a new converter this spring. I havnt had a lot of luck locating one for the conv. Thanks for the info.
I was just curious about it because I saw his car at the track and it looked really nice, I think his neighbor did his.
I've decided not to put a cage in my convert as long as I can run at a couple tracks (1/4mi) around here without it.
As far as the converter goes, after doing the rearend, Tires, and a few other things I really didn't want to spend any more money this year . I'll be installing the converter next March or April .
I was happy with the performance I got out of the car this year but I'm really looking forward to getting the converter in. Are you planning on putting one in your's?
Sorry I couldn't be of much help on the roll bar. There is a place here in northern IL called Alston, they do suspension stuff, roll cages, etc.. Maybe they can help you out. I have heard they do nice work on cages. The only personal experience I have with them was a few years ago when I bought
a set of subframe connectors for another car, they were top notch IMO. http://www.freestanding.com/servlet/ARContact
As long as the ASR is switched off I don't think it should kick in
Maybe your forgetting to turn it off ?
I am using Nitto Drag Radials, they do help quite a bit.
It depends on the track but in alot of cases provided it's not NHRA sanctioned you can get away without having a cage. The best thing to do would be to call and ask about the rules.
I have a Dana 36 in my car, I only go to the track on average about 4-6 times a year.
I wouldn't sweat breaking the 36 unless you go every weekend or decide to use slicks.
It should be ok with the drag radials.
(ASR off) I hold the brake (left foot & Rt foot on the gas) but don't give it any gas, release the brake and floor it, this flashes the converter. When I was on GSC's I would get wheel spin but my 60' times were better than with ASR on, which I tried once or twice by accident-lol. My short times were the same as your 2.0's with similar tire pressure. I found that lowering the pressure didn't help me any.
The best advice I could give you is to get a set of Drag Radials, they will really help.
