i have a '87 and after i drive it seems hard to start run rough as if flooded. now today i kept runnin rough and stall at idle i just purchesed the car a couple mounths ago still have to tune up maybe that will help prob do this weekend should i do anything to injectors i allready ran a can of lucas thur it. it has 80,000 mi
thanks in advance
Do an Ohm test on the injectors before anything else. Just pull the wire clip on each one and put a test lead on each tang and measure the resistance. They should be around 16-17 Ohms each. If any are lower (like 13 ohms) the windings are shorting out and the injector will need to be replaced.
Someone needs to read their FSM before stating Ohms for an 87, fell into the same trap. What the FSM says for an 87 is the Ohms should be at least 10 Ohms. And a fuel pressure test should be your FIRST step. That will tell you IF you MAY have a leaky injector(s), the Ohms test will just tell you the health of the injector coils. If the FP test shows a quick drop...then you need to isolate wether it's injectors, FP regulator or fuel pump related. I do suspect leaky injector(s). Next time it happens, hold the pedal to the metal while cranking....that will put the computer in clear flood mode.
This sounds silly but make sure that your gas cap is tight & sealing also, it can cause a problem with the pressure. If you need to have your injectors rebuilt contact: Cruzin Performance, in Big Rapids, MI.

Better reference the 87 FSM before stating such...Agree with Rick L on the process
