I was also thinking about installing a set of Lt4 heads to go along with
the cam. Any tips or tricks would be helpful.

Also, can you install the cam with the engine in the car in a L98? Do you have to remove the intake and change the lifters. (roller lifters in my case are new). I tried to pull the cam out of my old engine with the lifters still in, and the heads and intake off. they kept sliding back down, When I would rotate the cam manually. I was hopping I could get all the lifters to stay up with no pushrod pressure on them.

The lifters need to come out to remove the cam. If you have roller lifters, you can reuse them after inspecting for wear or damage. For all other lifters, install new ones with the new cam.

You may want to check web sites of a cam manufacture (Comp Cam or Crane) for detailed instructions.

You can probably do it in a weekend, but it will be a looooong weekend. Tough parts is getting the front hub off. And the front cover can be a real pain unless you remove the oil pan completely.
