I don't know of any modifications on fuel injectors other than using fuel injector cleaner. Howere, changing fuel injector types can assist in increased performance.

Some believe this to be true. You also have to consider if a tune would be necessary to compensate for the change. Theoretically, the O2 sensor should see the richer mixture -- because of the increase in fuel pressure -- and shorten the injector pulse to create the correct amount of gas.
To make a big enough difference, you might have to change the fuel lines to handle more pressure and do a new tune.
You could install a small injector and increase the pressure. This should do the same thing. The result would put a higher "load" on the injectors as they would run closer to max output more often. But that's probably not a problem -- if you don't race.
I suspect they researched this quite a bit before selecting injector size at the factory. After all, fuel effieciency was a major goal and atomization would certainly help.
Joe, I was told on the 89 the best thing to do is flow test & balance. You can contact Cruzin Performance 231-796-5705 & talk to him about it. See ya later, Don
I have heard there are things you can do to injectors to inprove performance. Any help on this subject is appreciated.
Having them flow balanced can help. Reality is that there's so much going on with engine inlet and exhaust gas flow that it's a minor effect if you're using otherwise new injectors.
If you need more flow, you can increase the fuel pressure. Doing so means you'll need a tune to address open loop running at start-up as well as WOT.
For the time and effort, you're looking in the wrong place assuming your current injectors are functioning correctly and you're not faced with any duty cycle issues due to road racing/LOTS more hp.
Joe, I forgot to tell you the Vette Mag. has an article in it that addresses this & claims you can gain 5 HP check it out. If you don't have a copy, Jason has mine now. Don
Realistically, all you can do about fuel injectors themselves is make sure that (1) they are behaving as designed and (2) they are the right size for your engine if you've modified it so much the stock injectors can't supply enough fuel. Depending on your level of modification, you may have to deal with the computer controlling them to make sure they're staying open the right amount of time to deliver the right amount of fuel.
With 20 year old injectors, there's a reasonable chance they may have enough crud in them to cause trouble. And sometimes larger injectors can be a band-aid to cover up an engine that's not quite in tune.
