Default EGR heat cover
Can you run with the crappy looking cover off the EGR pipe or will the heat cause damage? My cover fell apart and I would like to paint the tube with hi-temp and run it plain. I don't know if I would like run a Velcro on one.

I got a new one from Corvette Central a couple of years ago; it's still ok. It does cut down on the heat a bit.

I ran mine for years with no cover and no problems except once when a spark wire touched it.Now all the emissions are gone so end of that problem.
