I noticed when I downloaded the file off of my 94 into Tunercat that it has a table for regular shifting and for performance mode shifting. In the help section it states that the performance mode shifting was only used on the Trans Am which had a switch to choose between the two. Which brings me to the natural question...Seeing as how the two choices are already in the computer is it possible to rig up such a switch that would enable you to choose between two transmission setups? You could go with a mild and setup a radical choice for the performance mode. Anybody know?
Thanks
Roy
I had a '95 Trans Am and did just what you are saying. I modified the transmission parameters differently for performance mode using LT-1 edit software. To be honest there really isn't much to be gained. I programmed in different shift points and tranny presssure (for firmer shifts). You can do virtually the same thing by only modifying the tables in the WOT region of the table. Part throttle shift remain smooth while WOT shifts can be real firm using different shift points and line pressure.
I sold the Trans Am a few years back and have no idea where the switch would be spliced in.
old thread but thought I would post what I just found, apparently this is an extremely popular mod with everyone else with the LT1 and 4l60E except those of us with corvette's (not sure why)...I will be attempting this in the future.
Adding “Transmission Perform” Selector to your LT1’s Automatic Transmission
It is possible to add the sport mode switch to ANY 1994 or 1995 LT1 with a 4L60E automatic transmission that is still under the control of the PCM. Starting in 1996, GM apparently did away with this feature when they switched to the OBD2 PCM. However, if you have a 1996 or 1997 LT1 with an OBD1 PCM from 1994 or 1995, you can still enable this switch. http://www.trifectaperformance.com/t...rmanceMode.htm
