Default lower engine

While the engine is out of my 84 I have notice the mount looks as though it could be lowered as much as 1/2 inch. I know this is not much but hood clearance is at a premium with my present setup. Has anyone done this?? Do you have pics?? Does the lower cg improve handling?? Did you have to modify the cross member?? Can you still remove the oil pan with the motor in the car??

If it were me I wouldnt fool around with it. Less risk to modify your intake setup instead.

With everything tied together with that "C" beam, I think you would be changing the load angle of the whole drive line if you were to put the engine end of it too low. You might open up more drivability problems than you could ever imagine. I think the drive loading angle took major chasis engineering to get right and might not be such a good idea to change it much. Just my $.02 worth.
