Default Triflow

The B&B Triflow is arguably the best looking exhaust system for a C4.

GENERATION I - The original system. This is what I have. It is most infamous for exhaust resonance and a very loud exhuast note. If you are not familiar with exhaust resonance, it is an annoying buzz in your ears that will give you a bad headache after the first hour in the car. Your wife or girl friend will refuse to ride in the car. If you are sensitve to loud noise it will not work for you.

Generation II - Improved the system and quieted the system down some. Still had a significant resonance at certain RPM ranges in both automatic cars and 6 speed cars at cruising RPM's. Typically this is in the 1800 to 2000 range in 6th gear in manuals. The automatic guys will have to comment on the A4.

Generation III - Eliminated the overly loud exhaust note and the resonance.

Make sure you get a Generation III if you car is a DD.

Generation I - If you want to annoy your neighbors and set off all the car alarms in the parking lot.

Strick, one of the members is selling his system on the forum.

If nothing else, Strick can tell you about the Generation II B&B. Send him a pm.

Welcome to the forum!

hmmmm, tempting yes. i do approve of loud exhaust notes. Anything that drowns out the sound of the annoying "bubble bee" Honda exhaust sounds around my neighborhood

I just bought a B&B 3" system and love it.
It is beautiful, loud, and definitely has some resonance but because of my 4.09 gears I don't cruise there.

I have a B&B tri-flow and purchased it around 2002 and don't know what generation it is. I can say that it has resonance (oh man does it), it does cause your ears to ring and passengers want to exit pretty quickly. On the high note, it sounds great, looks great (probably the best looking exhaust) and it will increase HP, especially if you perform other mods.

Recently drove a GS with the Gen 3 B&B and I was surprised, seemed kinda quiet. Pleasant inside, still resonated a bit but not irritating at all.
Exhaust note was as the originals, but much more quieter and subdued.
Id say a little louder than stock; liveable. Hated getting in mine afterwards which resonates at almost every rpm under 2800.
Like loud....some resonance is Ok, but theres a line somewhere.

Everyone is different when it comes to exhaust notes and tones. The B&B and Corsa are probably the top two exhaust I've seen people like on there C4's.
