Sounds like one of you D/A switches is giving up the ghost. Try exercising them & see if that corrects the problem. Some say that are adjustable & can be pulled out slightly. If you determine they have to be changed let me know as there is a way to do it without removing the door panel.
Mine did this after new door seals and I had to replace the switches. I know this isn't the best description but they are self adjusting with kind of a post or rod within a post and the first time you shut the door (after installation) the outermost rod compresses (it's a pressure fit) and then the innermost rod compresses shuting the switch. The outermost rod remains in a set position until the seal wears and then it compresses a little bit more to maintain correct operation of the switch. If the outermost rod is completed compressed now and your seals are worn you are probably getting some movement within the switch; hence the flickering.

Thanks for the info. I feel the switch on the driver's side is faulty, either that or the wiring is loose. I tried to remove the switch to check it with a multimeter, but I failed. Much worse, I removed the two screws and found the backing plate has the threads for the screws. It was fun (NOT!) getting it back together. I would be greatful if you would let me have your secret for replacement.

This sounds exactly like the problem I have. All the seals and weatherstripping are going to need replacement. This car was apparently parked outside for quite a long time. I am looking to restore the car to showroom condition. Thanks for the info.

Re: Door Ajar Problem on 95 (Rich_01659)
I replace these all the time at work. I remove one bolt and insert a pick in to hold the plate in place, then I remove the other bolt and hold the pick and pull the switch out and unplug it. Then install the new switch and put one bolt in and then remove the pick and install the other.
If the plate falls down, guess what you have to remove the door panel to get it.
If your lights are flickering when you go over a bump, chances are that it is your hatch switch. Remove the rear trim and bend the bracket holding the switch up a little, the pin that pushes the switch closed is problably not closing the switch all the way. I had this problem in my '94, the bracket got bent by using a hatch vent.
