Default Door Hindge Replacement

I have a 1984 C4 and just replaced my upper drivers side door hinge and was going to replace the lower and realized the lower fender section "The one with the louvers" must be removed to gain access. In the service manual it shows that only two screws are needed to be removed, but when I removed the screws the fender section was still on there firmly. Before I start removing any more fender screws I would like to know what really needs to be removed ? I just like to do things the right way if possible !

I believe a 10mm is on top as well as on the bottom, between the rocker and fender, you have to use a thin wrench and you just need to loosen it. You also have to remove the torx bolts along the wheel well, can not remember how many.

Actually, no, unless it's been "modified". The 84's and 85's required the lower bolt to be removed all the way to remove the cover. Later years made the lower hole slotted to allow you to just loosen the bolt to take it off. Also remove the top 10mm, and the three torx screws.

Mine is the same way, everyone said you could just loosen the bottom and pull the panel off... well the panel didn't come off until I had "loosened" it so far that the bolt fell out . (This is on my '85)
