No, the factory LTx's are cast iron manifolds (which are very good BTW). I don't think anyone is still making a shorty header specifically for the L98 anymore. But, I can think of two for the LTx - the Hooker and Pacesetter - that are still in production, have bigger tubes than your stock '85 and may work for you.
People spend all kind of money on wheels, valve covers, exhaust tips and lots of other things that don't increase hp. Most people state that they changed these things for apperance. IMO the stock manifods are ugly as hell. Even if they don't give you the hp increase of long tubes. Changing to coated shorties it worth it just for looks.
I agree there are some really nice looking after market headers. Just saw a really sharp looking pair on line with very unusual collectors that looked like they would flow very well and look good to.
Steve
If you find a set that fit please post or send me a pm I am looking for the same thing, I have no problem with the Long tubes but I will build my own before I pay $600 for just headers.

The reason I am asking is because I have angle plugs on my car .In order to get even shorty plugs to fit I had to dimple the already small tubes to make them fit .Also I have World Products heads and the exhaust ports are bigger than the stock manifolds,I also remember an article in Chevy High performance comparing headers and they were surprised at the power gains made by some of the shorty headers. So I know some can flow o.k. Just wondering if anyone out thier has found a pair that works .Thanks Steve
I thought the angled sportsman II's had L98 plug angles? (i.e, same as the stock heads it replaced)
85 vettes have straight plugs and iron heads.I believe you are thinking of the later aluminum heads.I have found a pair that look like they would flow as good as long tubes or close but they don't have the air tubes. The factory manifolds are the most restrictive piece of junk they could have come up with.

Are they straight? I assumed the iron heads had the same angle as the alum, since the fbody's got iron l98 heads and they were 'L98 angle' as well. Weird.
The factory vette manifolds on at least my '87 are nicer than the fbody manifolds for sure. Not as nice as some shorty 1 3/4" headers would be though. I had long tubes on my vette and hated them, so when you find a set of nice shorties that will fit I'm in too.
