Garage Pics
My wife wanted a "wet room" by the pool, and I could use some more garage space, so we came to a compromise.
This is what we started with (3 car garage with two vettes, a Sequoia, a 7R and a Gixxer 1000, plus many tools, welder, large air compressor, etc). We need more space.

This is the slab I added.

And this is what I was able to get done over the Christmas Holidays.

It has a bay for a 9000 lb two post asymetrical lift, two additional garage spaces (technically three, as you could store one car on the lift), a full bath ("wet room") downstairs, and a full bath up with storage and a 26' x 21' entertainment room with balcony upstairs.
This is the project that keeps me from doing other stuff on the cars. I am building every aspect of the garage. Though I may have to contract out the roof decking and shingles, as it is an 8/12 (34°) pitch, which is a bit steep for me.
I may post additional pics in the future if others are interested.
Enjoy!

BAM, what area do you live in? I had assumed Pasadena or Baytown area. Accurate?
With regaard to the wood, no it is not treated against the steel, but done accordance to the details supplied on the web for metal / wood structures. I have seen some high end houses done with metal spanning very large open areas in this same area. Since the "master planned communities" do not allow metal buildings and I wanted full open area throughout with no "free-standing" support columns, thiis was how I was able to get what I wanted.
I am glad that you guys like. I was fortunate in that I got a lot that was ~1/2 acre in this area, and am trying to take advantage of the size. I still have ~70' from the back of the garage extension to my property line.
Thanks for looking and the kind comments.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
You need to come up to the 2920/I45 car show on a Friday night. With decent weather, it will draw 100-160 cars. I drug my '87 out last weekend, and took the C6 a couple of weeks ago. There is a lot of action at the show. Quite a few vettes, Vipers, and for some strange reason, last weekend about 10 late model goats. And a few skittles as well.
Also, it would be nice to see another CF member's car.

By Thurs 11PM, the wall was down, and I could have the lift delivered Friday AM. Unfortunately, they called midday and said it would be here the following week.

I moved the '87 into the back area, and still have 4' from the back wall, and ~15' between it and the C6.

A view from the front.

I still have a lot of work to do, but this has all been at my hands, and ~4 months of steady work. The new garage is 5 cars and just a tad shy of 50' deep.
One day, this will all be worth it, though based on the feelings of the "open-ness", that day is fast approaching.
I hope you guys enjoy.

Good luck on the finishing touches
Thanks for the kind replies. It has definitely been a lot of labor. When I was quoted $128K (lowest) for this addition (~1860 ft2), with no major finish on the interior, I thought something was amiss. Well I can definitely say that I have a new appreciation for the amount of labor required.

That would be really nice. However, I am in a Master planned community, and I am really pushing the limits with my current plans. It is a regular event to get visitors (people I don't know) who want to see what is being built. They are always surprised that you can build something like this up in the Woodlands area.
Thanks again for the great comments,
Aaron

What are the specs on your slab, considering you're putting a two-post lift on it?
