'94, Convert. I replaced the "Door Ajar" button inside the door and the outside window weatherstriping that runs along the top of the door. Well, now the door side of the dashboard is leaving an "imprint" in the door panel and the glass window is hitting at the top when I open and close the door.
Are you sure the door panel is flush with the door?
With the window down, bring the door close to the striker and watch as it closes to see if the door moves up when it contacts the striker. The door henge pins wear and that can cause a sagging door. If you are sure the door remains in the same plane as it closes then look to adjusting the window. There was a recent post about adjusting the windows that details how to do it.
Check down inside the door and make sure the Window guide is not broken. This will cause the window to roll up too high. See my first picture in this post here.
I was able to squeeze the side panel onto the door, so it is not rubbing up against the dash anymore.
In reading the service maunual, it sounds like the window adjustment is more of an adjustment to the "tilt" of the window rather than an up and down adjustment. Is that correct?
