I was planning on getting a NOS kit for my car, but some guy told me that i couldnt get it because my vette is automatic, is this true? I'm lost. Help.
This guy dosent know what he is talking about....many automatic cars have nitrous in them. It will put more strain on your transmission however, as you probably already know.

Yeah, lots more strain on the tranny.. just like adding more HP to the engine.
Nitrous?! I used to run 125hp NOS on the stang many years ago (it began life as an automatic) and it held up just fine for about 20kmi before I changed over to a stick....got tired of going to the refill shop twice a day. Forget the nitrous. If you have got a few dollars to throw at the car get a supercharger, tune it up, maintain it and forget about it. Besides, Nitrous may look cheap, but it can end up costing you BIG dollars in the log run. If you race it,or drive it hard on the street you will need spare (filled) bottles, blankets/heaters, remote valves, proper gages,a nice progressive system is good for higher power levels, and most of all lots and lots and lots of refills! You could pay for a supercharger in a matter of 1-2 years! Why bother driving with a bomb in the trunk anyways.....
The worst part about it is that even though they may have legalized it from a smog perspective, it WILL create a problem for you with insurance companies and lawyers if you crash your car and you have a bottle of that in the trunk.....especially if you are remotely to blame for the accident! BELEIVE ME! That bottle is curse!

Kore, what is that TV looking thing in by your shifter in your Vette? What does it do? Also, that G-Tek lowering kit, where can you find more info about it? Thanks.
Ya you can get it. Kore Yome has very good points! Ya think the drivetrain can take it? It might wear it down a little sooner than expected, but life is short. Then you will have a good excuse/reason to get a 383 stroker or a 406 or somethin' nice. You have stock cast pistons, you should be ok for awhile. I haven't gotten it and won't only because I put hyperuetectic (high silicone content) pistons. BTW, welcome aboard! I am originally from Salinas and still have family near Chualar. See ya around the forum-lots of good people here.
