Default gears!!!

i did have an 87 with 3.07 and auto i want to change gears but i im now at +/-2100 rpm at 75 mph so what will be the difference in performance and rpm at high speed with 3.73 or 4.10 will 4.10be too much or ok with overdrive

From what I have read the 3.07 is best overall for stock L98. I don't have any experience but I have read a few posts.

If you still plan on running the stock intake. DO NOT change the gears.

I think it's because L98's make most of their power down low, and your going to take your self out of that rpm range where your making the most pretty quickly with those gears (my .02 anyways)

Do NOT change to such a low gearset if you plan to keep it with a TPI intake.

I have a 93 so not sure it applies but 373 gears at 2500RPM = 65 MPH

3.07 is the gear ratio for the TPI intake. It runs out of breath at 4500 (at best) so you want to keep the revs down where it makes most of its power.
