brake "squeak" compound
i don't need a lot of info about other products for this thread
. i have a brake squeal/squeak while applying the brakes. this now ocurring after new pads, rotors, bed in, etc.
so, i purchased a package of "permatex ultra disc brake caliper lube synthetic lubricant" and after thinking about it after i got home, wondered if i bought the wrong stuff
. what i am used to using a long time`ago seemed like a blue glue or epoxy form of product that seemed to "glue" (for lack of a better phrase) the back of the pads to the caliper piston and thusly eliminating the brake squeal.
all the "glides" or "pins" etc have been cleaned and/or lubricated prior to that mentioned in paragraph # 1. so, without a lot of "i use this product and i use that product"

Yes, you got the wrong stuff. Last time I went into a parts store they gave me the wrong junk too. What you got was a lubricant and is not made to be applied to the back of the pads to dampen vibration. I know I've seen guys here say they use it, but it's incorrect. Permatex calls it "Disc Brake Quiet" and it's usually blue or red, but there are other brands too.
